So it begins…
From a young age, I've always had an eye for beautiful wallpaper. Growing up, I would admire the stunning murals and textures in the furniture store my dad worked at (long love Dekko!) and longed for a forest scene in my own bedroom, which I finally got at 16. I've always been passionate about color and space, often moving my room around compulsively until it felt just right. To me, there's a sense of serenity that comes with creating a beautiful and harmonious space.
As I grew older and pursued my passion for filmmaking, I found myself continually drawn to wallpaper, poring over vintage and new designs alike. But nothing quite captured my imagination and sense of history like the intricate patterns and designs of Celtic and Anglo Saxon culture.
With Ena Florence, I've poured my heart and soul into creating a line of wallpaper that speaks to the rich and enduring traditions of my heritage. I've dedicated myself to every aspect of the process, from researching the historic manufacturers and designs to exploring my own roots as a way of grounding myself in my culture. I even decided to learn the fiddle!
Ena was my grandmother. She served during WW2 when she met my grandfather Desmond in Derry, Ireland. She died when I was young and I often forget all this rich history.
Through Ena Florence, I hope to share this passion and love for Celtic design with others. Whether it's through one of our stunning wallpaper designs or the story behind them, I invite you to immerse yourself in the beauty and history of this remarkable culture. Let our wallpaper invigorate your space and inspire you to explore your own connection to the rich and vibrant traditions of Ireland and beyond.
Thank you so much for being here.
It’s truly a pleasure.
